American model Gigi Hadid was arrested at an airport in the UK for keeping weed and related smoking utensils.
As per TMZ, the 28-year-old model was arrested on July 10 after arriving in the UK’s Cayman Islands from the US via a private jet.
Gigi was found with a small amount of weed and smoking utensils in her bag during the customs check at the Owen Roberts International Airport. Supermodel Gigi was accompanied by her friend, Leah Nicole McCarthy, during the arrest.
As per the information, the weed was for personal use only, but the model and her friend were arrested on charges of ‘importation of weed and importation of utensils to smoke the weed.’
Gigi and her friend were taken to the Prisoner Detention Centre and after going through necessary procedures, both the women were released on bail.
On July 12, they pleaded guilty in court and were fined 1,000 dollars, followed which the duo were released.
