Billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott filed for a divorce from her second husband Dan Jewett on Monday.
According to New York Times, Jewett did not contest the divorce and the division of assets was already decided in a separation contract.
Early signs of potential trouble in Scott and Jewett’s marriage appeared as the former school teacher’s name disappeared from documents of philanthropic endeavours that both had committed to undertake together.
Billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott donated $12 billion to non-profits and married an instructor at the prestigious school her children attended.
Dan Jewett’s name also disappeared from Scott’s author bio on Amazon.
Dan Jewett’s name no longer appears on Giving Pledge, a site where billionaires pledge to give away half of their wealth before they die.
Scott is estimated to be worth $27.8 billion, according to Bloomberg. She has donated over $12 billion in the past three years.
Just last month she donated two Beverly Hills mansions valued at $55 million to California Community Foundation.
