DC Dilip Chhabria, a famous car designer was arrested on Monday and arrested in a cheating case.

Popular car designer Dilip Chhabria was arrested on Monday by the Mumbai crime branch in a cheating and forgery case. The owner of car modification studio ‘DC’, Chhabria was booked under section 420 (cheating) and other relevant sections of forgery under the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to sources, one of the at least five complaints the Crime Branch received, is from a top most Bollywood actor.

“Based on the actor’s complaint, a case for cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, punishment for forgery, forgery of valuable security, will, etc, forgery for purpose of cheating, using as genuine a forged document or electronic record, and criminal conspiracy, was registered on December 19,” an officer said.

The CIU team also seized a black colour high-end sports car designed by DC Dilip Chhabria. The sports car, worth around RS.75 lakh, is registered in the name of one Indermal Ramani with the Tamil Nadu Regional Transport Office (RTO).

The car linked to the case was also confiscated by the cops and was parked at the Mumbai Police headquarters. More information on the case has not been revealed by the cops.

As per Midday, the man was arrested by API Sachin Vaze and his team. The report of the offence was filed on December 19.

Dilip Chhabria is the owner of the country’s most famous car modification studio. Studio name is “DC”.
