Comedian Bharti Singh News Today: The NCB on Saturday arrested comedian Bharti Singh with her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa for possession of 86.5 grams of Cannabis (Ganja).
Bharti Singh with her husband Harsh have been placed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) and they are likely to be produced before the holiday court on Sunday.

“In the follow up and in corroboration with previous inputs in the (FIR no 16) the NCB raided two other places on Saturday including production office and comedian Bharti Singh’s residence and from both the places 86.5 gms of ganja was recovered.”
“Both Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya accepted the consumption of Ganja. Bharti Singh has been placed under arrest under the provisions of NDPS Act 1986 and examination of Harsh Limbachiya involvement is underway,” said NCB press release.
The couple’s arrest comes close on the heels of the nodal’s agencies’ drive against the alleged drug menace in Bollywood.
Sources said that seizure of 86 grams of ganja is a small quantity and does not fall under the commercial quantity and Bharti may soon procure bail.
In the last two months, more than 25 people including actors like Preetika Chauhan, film producer Firoz Nadiadwala’s wife Shabina Saeed, Australian National Paul Bartel and South African national Agisilous Demetriades have been arrested in the drug case.
Bollywood Top actors like Shraddha Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet, Sara Ali Khan, Arun Rampal have been questioned by the NCB while examining the drug angle in actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.
NCB officials said that acting on the specific information the team led by zonal director Sameer Wankhede raided Khar Danda area and nabbed a 21-year-old drug trafficker with various drugs Cannabis (40 gm) and Nitrazepam (psychotropic medicines).
The quantum of sentence and fine varies with the offence. For many offences, the penalty depends on the quantity of drug involved – small quantity, more than small but less than commercial quantity or commercial quantity of drugs.
Small and Commercial quantities are notified for each drug. According to the experts, upto one kg of ganja is small quantity, above that is intermediate and 20 kgs and above is considered to be commercial quantity.
“The seized drugs is small quantity and all offences punishable with a imprisonment for a term of unto one years with a fine or both oand are triable by the magistrate court.” said Advocate Ayaz Khan.
