Gujarat: District-wise break-up:

  • Ahmedabad- 77, Surat-19, Rajkot-10, Vadodara-12, Gandhinagar-13, Bhavnagar-14, Kutch- 2, Mehsana-2, Gir Somnath- 2
  • Porbandar- 3, Patan-5, Panchmahal- 1, Chhota Udepur- 1, Jamnagar- 1, Morbi- 1, Anand-1 and Sabarkantha-1. Total no of cases- 165

19 new coronavirus positive cases detected in Gujarat – 13 from Ahmedabad, Patan-3 and 1 each from Bhavanagar, Anand and Sabarkantha.

Ahmedabad Lockdown News:

  • Ahmedabad police has developed an application compiling data of all deployed in the city to implement the lockdown.
  • Commissioner of police Ashish Bhatia said that the mobile application works on nine parameters of illnesses.

Gujarat government has decided to bring in an ordinance to cut the salaries of MLAs.

Deputy chief minister Nitin Patel said that all MLAs will cut 30% in salaries with effect from 1sat april.

The Gujarat government has ordered 40,000 coronavirus test kits for Covid-19 and to be delivered in the next few days.

Gujarat health & family welfare department officials announced on Monday that they have identified eight specific clusters in six areas of Ahmedabad as Covid-19 hotspots.

Incidentally, Ahmedabad was declared one of the Top 10 hotspots earlier this month.

Vatva in Ahmedabad have shown signs of better respiratory health since the janata curfew on March 22 and the subsequent lockdown from March 25.

The improvement in air quality of these industrial estates is significant because the needle had not moved even fractionally over the years despite a raft of government moratoriums and strictures passed.
